Dear Judy,
I adopted Wanda--now Annie and Montel--now Trevor on 9/16/06 as a birthday present for my now fiancée Laura. Annie just turned 3 and is doing great. When we adopted her she was roaming the streets of Orlando and was found next to a Walmart on Colonial. She was 20 lbs and nothing but bones. She is now 50 lbs and I swear she is smarter than most humans. She had some bacteria in her left ear and that is all gone now—she is 100% healthy. She is the life of the party wherever she goes. She loves to play ball and often shows off by catching it in the air. She is filled with love and sometimes gets separation anxiety when we leave for work but that’s okay b/c we never want to be away from her too long anyway.
You wouldn’t recognize Trevor. He is built like a horse. He is tall with long athletic legs and a small chest. He still has big paws which aren’t fully grown into. When I have him jump up we look each other in the eyes—that is how tall he is and he just turned 1 in June. For his birthday we baked him a cake. Trevor was found at a week old in the bottom of a garbage can piled with trash on top of him and the lid closed. Trevor is still a pup with tons of energy and I take him to empty fields to run around and he loves it. He’ll run until his tongue touches the ground. Even though Trevor had a tough start he is doing great and our only recipe for him is love. He is very good with people and has made a friend with the dog who lives behind us. We finally got a harness b/c he took me for walks. At 16 months he is 75lbs and I don’t think there is an ounce of fat on him. Trevor too likes to play ball but Annie always beats him.
The bottom line is that we are so lucky to have Annie & Trevor and thank you for saving them and all that you do. Knowing that all of these dogs stay at your own house there is no question you are doing Gods work here.. Until we found you it broke my heart when I’d go to Animal Control and the SPCA. I hope you win Extreme Makeover and if I win Powerball before that then I will build the shelter for you with my own money. I’d like to rescue all dogs but you are actually doing it and for me that makes you a very special person. Rest assured, two dogs you saved now have a great life in a great home surrounded by love.
God Bless,
Skye & Laura
